FOOD JOURNAL – My Coffee was colder than a Dog’s nose by the time I got to the Breakfast table. It took us a long time to get out of bed today and so the food got cold but that’s okay. I am thankful for everything on my table – a sign of God’s provision!
Breakfast is Ground Turkey with Holy Basil, Scrambled Eggs, Yogurt, Pomegranate Seeds and Coffee!
The first time I came across Holy Basil was during lunch at a traveler’s inn in Chiang Rai, Thailand. It was a Chopped Chicken dish and it tasted fantastic! So when I saw Holy Basil Sauce being sold in Robinsons, I quickly grabbed bottle to replicate the dish I had in the mountains of Mae Salong in Chiang Rai.
Recipe for Ground Turkey with Holy Basil:
300g of ground turkey or any other ground meat. Lean is best.
5 Tablespoons of Holy Basil Sauce (I buy mine in the Asian corner of Robinson’s Super Market)
1) Heat cooking oil in a pan. I use only a tablespoon or I spray non-stick oil on the pan.
2) Add the Holy Basil Sauce (the brand I use is Kanokwan) and Sautee for a few seconds.
3) Add the ground meat and cook until done!
