FOOD JOURNAL – Breakfast Highlight : Swiss Quark

Strawberries, Swiss Quark and Coffee

FOOD JOURNAL – Today is another busy and exciting day!

Our dear friend Zach Lucero (THE Rock Star Drummer of Sandwich and former NU Jock) is getting married to his girlfriend, Model and Singer France Pfleider and Ron is Ninong! We’ve bought white outfits for it and I went down a couple lbs (from 138 to 136) to look spiffy and slim in that color. All guests have been asked to wear white, but NO BARONGS PLS!

Ron even bought a new white Fedora and looks rakish in it!

Its not only an exciting day for Ron and me; its also a BUSY ONE. We’re working on renewing Ron’s papers at the BOI and that’s going to take all morning.

Speaking of morning, Breakfast was Strawberries, Swiss Quark, Turkey Dogs, Scrambled Eggs and Coffee!

FOOD JOURNAL – Salmon is my Secret to Beautiful Skin!

image

I love Salmon!

FOOD JOURNAL – Its been a week and a half since I had any Salmon so I asked the hubby if we could make a pitstop for some.

Salmon is actually one of my beauty secrets – Dr. Perricone, a world-famous skin doctor, recommends eating lots of Salmon (and Melon) in the week leading up to an important event if you want your skin to glow and look supple. Salmon’s Omega 3 Fatty Acids are apparently what helps your skin look great….

I eat Salmon regularly, not just in the week leading up to an important event because  everyday IS an important event in my life and I want to look good all the time!

I wouldn’t recommend slathering a piece of Raw Salmon over your face though … but I have entertained the thought. It might just work too! LOL!

FOOD JOURNAL – Merienda : Jennie-O Turkey Dogs and Arugula Salad with Ginger Sesame Dressing

FOOD JOURNAL - Merienda : Jennie-O Turkey Dogs and Arugula Salad with Ginger Sesame Dressing

FOOD JOURNAL – Got hungry before my 5 pm Newscast at RPN9 Merienda and thankfully I had baon: Jennie-O Turkey Dogs and Arugula Salad with Ginger Sesame Dressing.

Making baon food and making time to plan my eating schedule  are two keys to my successful weight loss. Bringing packed meals also helps me cut costs. For any diet to be successful, you need to plan your meals and stick to the plan 80 to 90 % of the time. Be consistent and you’ll see victory!

FOOD JOURNAL – Lunch with Bb Pilipinas Batch ’85 at Sentro, Serendra!!!

image

Bb Pilipinas Batch 1985 L-R : Joyce Ann Burton (Universe), Izza Gonzales (Maja) and Tina Alcala (Young)

Tempted as I was to eat as freely as my co-beauty queens, I was careful to stick to the rules – eat Protein and Veggies ONLY. And be happy with water and Brewed Coffee to drink.

So how do my co-winners stay slim?

Izza Gonzales, our Maja girl, has always kept her model-like figure over the years and recently became a Golden Girl. No, she hadn’t retired from modeling; her last show was the grand tribute to fashion Icon Pitoy Moreno. Anyway, the lovely Izza maintains her svelte figure through daily Bikram Yoga sessions.

Our Miss Young Philippines winner, Tina Alacala, stays slim through an active lifestyle, careful eating and caring for her family – two lovely teenage daughters and a wonderful husband – and managing their big, beautiful home in Indonesia.

I, on the other hand, slowly started to lose my beauty queen figure some 15 years thanks to late-night comfort eating. But last year I finally found the key to weight loss – careful eating and moderate exercise – and now I’m 35 lbs lighter and definitely happier :)

Lunch today for me was: Stir-fried Tofu, Squash Blossoms stuffed with Shrimp and cooked in Coconut Milk, Chicken Adobo, Coffee and Sugar-free Chocolate!

FOOD JOURNAL – Breakfast was a pleasure! I know people who don’t eat Breakfast; in fact, I used to be one of them. But now that I have discovered the beauty and benefits of Breakfast, I’m never going back!

Today Ron and I shared Turkey Pastrami, Leftover Ground Chicken in Sundried Tomato Pesto (Ron ate all of it, haha), Scrambled Eggs and Pomegranate Seeds in Plain Yogurt.

Coffee too!

My outfit for Bible Run 2012

Since I’ll be an Emcee this Saturday (March 3, 2012) at the first-ever Bible Run by the Philippine Bible Society, I decided that I needed to buy some new sporty togs to wear at the event and this is what I found!!!

And I’m so excited to say that the size of the blue jogging pants is small, while the Tee and the Sweater are Medium! I love my new slim body and how easy it is now to shop for clothes because I can fit into them!!!!

So what do you think of my outfit?

FOOD JOURNAL – Sugar-free Chocolate for a PM and Leftovers for Dinner!!!

Russel Stover Sugar-Free Chocolate

FOOD JOURNAL – Russel Stover is a Chocolate brand famous for its Sugar-Free offerings; for a sweet afternoon snack I had two small Russel Stover Sugar-free Chocolate nuggets – One was Coconut and the other was Pecan.
I had them with Coffee from my Thermos.

Then while waiting for Ron to pick me up after work I got impatient and hungry and ended up eating leftovers from Lunch – Ground Chicken with Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto – ooooyaaahhhh!!! Ahlavit!!!!
